A lot has happened for this band over the summer. We performed for more people than ever, had more interviews than ever, uploaded more videos than ever, had more conversations about our future THAN EVER, got our first sponsor ever, and we appeared on national television! This was the summer of America’s Got Talent (AGT) and the summer of practice and the summer we worked our butts off and saw some of how that work pays off.
A couple years ago, we wrote a song called “Summer’s End.” At the time, we thought it was just about saying goodbye to the freedoms we knew, late summer nights, hanging out with friends at the park, and sleeping until noon. The song sounded like a call to our peers to get together and enjoy the what was left of the season before things got chilly up here in Minnesota.
Now that song means something different to us because the summer of 2018 was one of work and results. This was the season we got to see a noticeable change in our growth as a band and what our future could be like. A time of decision and focus about what we want to do for the rest of our lives and realizing that we have not only the talent, but also the work ethic to make what had been a dream just a few years ago into a reality.
Summer of 2018 was a forecast for our band that said there will be work ahead, along with change and reward. It marked the beginning of a season of our lives that we’re going to be in for quite some time.
The lessons we learned this summer are part of us now. We can’t separate ourselves from the work nor from the vision we have of ourselves as a band making and performing songs for generations of music lovers.
Having said that, we’re not done with this song yet. We recorded “Summer’s End” in 2016, but we plan to check in and revamp it. If not for the studio, then for the stage, so watch our YouTube and check our Instagram for updates. If you haven’t seen it, here’s the video.
